Description
Witch /wɪtʃ/ noun – a woman who believes in herself as if she were her own goddess.
There are thirteen witches in the calendar, as many as the moons in a year. I chose my witches with significant commitment, thanks to which I probably made a few unexpected choices. Some you know, maybe you even like, and others (I’m sure) you will see for the first time. I tried hard not to prey on other cultures, so we have all European witches here, especially from Middle Eastern Europe, but a few Western ones also appear. And since we’re digging into characters from the borderline of reality, I allowed myself to enter a few characters from fairy tales and stories into the pantheon. I hope that even if you don’t fully agree with my choices, you will at least enjoy the visual interpretation of them. I was more instinctive here. I know how certain witches are portrayed, but sometimes I deviate from this image. For example, Baba Yaga is a young girl, furious as a freak, and the Snow Queen has reindeer antlers instead of a crown. She somehow got into her land of ice, didn’t she? I hope there will be something to decipher because I messed up this and that. There is also a crib, which is an extra card in the calendar.
🇬🇧 15 postcards in English – cards (13 lunar months + extra card for “every witch” + cover)
It comes in a box.
Although the calendar includes some of the most important holidays, it focuses on eco-feminism and gratitude, which is worth practising every day. It is a reminder to think about the little things that happen, keep learning, have reasons to smile, make your dreams come true and look at everyday life with gratitude.
Lunar calendar.
We created this calendar to remind ourselves that life is a cycle of succeeding phases. Each phase is a promise that brings new possibilities for every new moon cycle.
Let’s find something good in every one of them.
🌚 New Moon – the beginnings are always beautiful and full of promises – it is time to seed some new ideas.
🌓 First Quarter – we observe our ideas growing as they need our attention to come true
🌕 Full Moon – what we were working on is beginning to happen now what was expected to grow becomes real. We can enjoy what we have created.
🌓 Last Quarter – closing a project brings inner peace and a sense of accomplishment. This is the time to rest and make space for something that will come soon…
The original is ink & watercolour on paper.
